SLTM (the Podcast) 198

We’ve given up pretty much with writing any kind of funny little story or shout out to someone in this introduction. No one reads them, hell no one listens to this fucking podcast. So why bother. I mean I’m going to continue to do the podcast and occasionally write stupid introductions to them, cause I enjoy doing them. Maybe something funny will just drop out of my ass now….. “I just ripped and shit my pants. worse pair I ever bought. Thanks toughskins” Nope. Let’s just move on. Episode 196 of SLTM (the Podcast)

Once as a kid I sat on a rust nail, tore up my leg pretty good, but the real scaring came years later when I played college basketball at Community College. You see, that scar never went away. When I would do my patented Three Slice Flush Dunk, everyone could see it. Much to my chagrin It pained me, emotionally at least, for years. I came this close to making sweet love to singing sensation Tiffany on her comeback ’92 tour when I was working security at the Antler Dome in St.Paul Minnesota. Long story short, this scar has left an emotional scar bigger than the scar it left on my leg. So I’m off to have surgery and to get my life back. Cause, God Dammit, I deserve it. Now, does anyone have Tiffany’s phone number? Beach Slang- Who Would ever want something so broken? – Music Review

Beach Slang- Who Would ever want something so broken? – Music Review Beach Slang Who would ever want something so broken? Beach Slang Bandcamp This nice 4 slice EP has some good light distortion and an early 80’s feel to it. Rock music, made back in the day before it was all either Katie Perry or Pop Punk nonsense. Do you know a wonderful band called the Restorations? I mean, you should, they are just great. Well this band reminds me of a neighbor living a few doors down from the Restorations. Similar neighborhood, share some of the same lawn furniture, and may hang out or watch their neighbors house while they are gone. Hey also, their grandfather or step dad from their mom’s fifth marriage could be the Phsychedlic Furs. I mean really, they don’t share much genetic material but if you saw pictures (sound pictures in this case) of the two you would swear they were half cousins. The vocals have a nice fuzzy tone to them, which I think works well. This EP gives off a nice late 1970’s or early 1980’s vibe, especially the first two songs. Ah, no wonder this sounds good, and so well polished. It’s got members of Ex-Friends, Weston and Nona in it. This debut 7 inch out now on Dead Broke, does not sound like a debut of a new band. No, it’s seasoned with veteran sauces. Yes, like that. So if you like any of those bands tunes, we really dug the latest 7 inch from Ex-Friends, then you should check this out. You hear it as it is, and not experience any disappointment. You can buy the 7 inch record or go over to Beach Slang’s bandcamp, listen to the tunes and pay an as you will price for the four songs. Don’t be a jerk, like us, pay a few bucks for this. Good Rock music isn’t free. Dead Broke says on their website that orders for the 2nd pressing of this EP will be up soon. So go give the mp3’s a few dozen spins then report back to Dead Broke and get a copy. This review was written by Brad Bugos. Feel the same? Different? Dead? Then leave a comment or email brad@fatrobotradio.com . We would love to hear you feed back. Plus you can send us stuff to review. Listen to the show or just email and find out how....
