Everytime I see your face, I feel like punching the cat

An Experimental New Show opened this week at Chubb’s Playhouse Liquors in Canton, IL called “Everytime I see your face, I feel like punching the Cat”. It’s a strange show, with lead “actor” Brad Bugos standing on stage for minutes at a time Meowing and Laughing while “prancing” to the beat. Audience members will be treated to a five minute monologue about growing up in an abusive chicken lard sandwich family and songs like “Downstairs where my biscuits survive”. The highlight of the show however is when Bugos straps a live cat to his head, dances and sings “Mr. Bojangles” at the top of his lungs. It’s truly something to behold, strange, and yet somehow very mesmerizing and shocking. Tickets are on sale now! RICK SIMS please come home Soon!

This is my yearly plea to Rick Sims, he of the Didjits and The Gaza Strippers, to please make more music. In case you don’t know Rick, in which case your life must be a sad empty place, I direct you to check out Hornet Pinata by the Didjits, one of the best rock albums ever made. Need further proof of Rick’s greatness? Also see Hey Judester or the Gaza Strippers album Laced Candy. The man is just a brilliant songwriter. If I ever won the lottery, which would be impossible since I don’t play, I would ask that Rick get both bands back together and make two new albums, plus I would pay him ridiculous money to play at a party. Since that will never happen, let’s hope Rick Sims makes some new music because he loves making new music. The world would be a better place for it, at least for a half an hour or so. Come home Soon Rick Sims, we miss you! MUSIC ON EPISODE 174 OF SLTM (the Podcast): Les Sages Burn Burn Burn! Hey Everybody it’s some kook with a podcast. Never heard one of those before have you? This one’s different, and how. Oh, I see you’re asking how is this one different. Well, on this podcast, this dude talks about the end of the world, conspiracy theories, alien body snatching, the governments involvement in the 5150 project ,and sexy talk about Cheese. So tune it in for forty minutes of loose talk and music from bands and artists that may not get the attention from the radio (what’s that?) and the internet . Give it a listen, then pass along all this goodness to Jerry over in sales, cause he could really use a break from his shitty reality. What with his divorce and conviction on animal cruelty. Thanks for listening, it’s a bit too late but we still appreciate you giving a shit when no one else did or does. My Special Gift to the Pygmalion Festival

Seth Fein once told me that Rock music was like a good sandwich, just don’t add so much mustard. I met Seth at a 16 tons show back in the day at Trito’s. He was all hair and elbow’s. Good kid, he reminded me of a young Jim Best. While our paths have crossed at least a hundred times since that show, Trailer Park was also on the bill, Seth acts like he’s never met me. I could take that as an insult, but I don’t because he’s a busy guy, working hard all year long booking bands and working on the next Pygmalion Music Festival. Since Seth was nice enough to give me a press pass in 2011 to the Festival, I’ve tried to help spread the word (even though he needs no help from this idiot) about The Pygmalion Music Festival. This year is going to be a really good show, not only do you have the music festival, but this year there is the lit fest and the made fest. What bands might you see this year at the Pygmalion Music Festival? How about Major Lazer, The Head and the Heart, The Breeders, Warpaint, Daughter, Dino Bravo, Grandkids and many, many more. So get your single show tickets by following the link below, and on September 26 to the 28th see some good music, enjoy Champaign/Urbana and check out Lit Fest and Made fest. It’s a good time to be alive in Central Illinois. Also below is my little commercial I wrote for this years Pygmalion Music Festival. Please pass it around, play it on your podcast or radio show. Rudy will await your Foundation

Every time I drive down the Pesotum black top, I get the strange feeling I’ve crashed in that cornfield near Doug Vance’s house. Of course, I can’t be sure, everything is a blur since my accident last June. Crazy how the mind works. Sonically Loud Tuneful Music Episode 172 is ON THE AIR!
